Bring Out Your Dead (part IX)!!

"Just let the damn blue team take the friggin' flag!"

- bio

On Saturday, 01/19/02, we added another installment to the "Bring Out Your Dead" series.

While the plan was for a huge number of people to show up, an unforseen snowstorm the night before left 6" to 1' (15.24 - 30.48 cm) of snow on the ground, making it difficult to impossible for many people to come.

With only 17 machines and 20 or so people in attendance, we made the best of what we had. There were also some attendees who came in via the web (one from Florida... his ping of 220+ vs. our ping of 0 - 30 made him our resident bitch).

The party started at 6:00 pm (as always) and ended at 6:30 am (12 1/2 hours of hot LAN action!!). Of course, the games didn't really start till 7 (gotta get those network issues worked out and bitch-slap the monkey who's running Internet Connection Sharing first).

Here's how things worked out:

A shot of my car on the morning of the party. I was hoping that the snow wouldn't impact the attendance, but knew it probably would.
My front yard... the ground was bare the day before.
My neighbor, Ben, came by with his snow-blower to help get things cleaned up.
Ben's snow-blower. Have I mentioned yet how cool Ben is? He came back later and cleaned out the area in front of the curb from my driveway down to the car you see (so people could park a little easier).
Another view of the snow in the morning, looking west down my street.

Let's get set up!!
