Here's that plane again. I was supprised that my digital camera actually stopped the props (hard to see in this image, but very clear in the 1600x1200 format that I took them in).
And again the plane, getting ready to dump water on the fire.
I saw this stuffed animal sitting on a branch half way up the hill and wrote this haiku:

Poor little reindeer Abandoned in the forrest You will burn nicely
We finally found the fire, and I climbed down the side of a ravine to get these images.

I made sure the wind was blowing any direction but toward me.
My wife started freaking out a bit above me, as I was a little close to the fire.

These images were taken with a telephoto lens (I'm not a total idiot... well, perhaps I am).
Here's a view without the zoom (to give you an idea of how far away the fire was).

It's too damn close, and I, my friends, am a complete idiot.
