Geeks and motorcycles, whadda country!

May 19, 2005 By: bio Category: General

I just wanna say one thing first….

I HAVE MY STAR WARS TICKETS FOR THE 7:30 SHOW TOMORROW NIGHT! I’M MORE GEEK THAN YOU ARE!! NEENER-NEENER-NEENER!!

Well… I’m glad I got that out of the way. And now, to the real deal:

About 4 posts ago I told you that I had ordered new pipes for my bike.

They came today.

I inspected them at the dealer, making sure that the chrome was good and there were no obvious defects, then raced home to install them.

The instructions were vague at best, but I managed to get all but one on after a couple of hours of messing around (I’m a computer engineer… not a mechanic, damn it!). It was when I went to slip on the last pipe that I noticed a problem… they didn’t come with gaskets.

“No problem” I thought to myself, “I’ll just call the dealer and get some”.

Riiiiiiight.

For those who havn’t ever had the pleasure of dealing with a motorcycle dealer, let me enlighten you:

Generally… they stock nothing and employ people that used car lots won’t touch.

After calling every dealer in the Spokane area (as well as northern Idaho), I knew I was defeated on the “quick fix” approach and resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to order them. At the low, low price of $17.99 each (and I need 4), it will take me another $77.79 and a week to 10 days to get them. I pulled out my credit card and read the numbers like the sheep I am.

The old pipes are back on so at least I can still go for a ride if I desire… so life is still good.

Marketing opportunity for you!

May 18, 2005 By: bio Category: General

Need to advertise your website? Want to drive up your hits? Then we have the plan for you!

All you need to do is post a comment on this site.

The marketing team of whitewomanblackdog.com has created a pricing plan for comments which are solely for the purpose of directing traffic to another website.

It’s easy!

All you need to do is post a comment with a link to your hot hot lesbian fun, trans-gender shemales, texas hold-em poker, or viagra advertising website, and we will automatically bill the owner of the linking domain a non-refundable fee of $9.99 to consider using that comment. If the comment is approved, a monthly fee of $19.95 per comment as well as a click-through rate of $39.95 will be billed*.

What could be better?

We will continue to display the comment that was submitted until you beg us to remove it!

Of course, we will still accept comments that don’t link to commercial sites as defined in the pricing plan at no charge. 🙂

* These fees will be billed to the domain owner at the beginning of the calendar month and are due no later than the 15th of the same month. Any fees not collected by the 16th of the month will be considered delinquent and a $50.00 late charge will be added to the ballance. An additional $50.00 charge will be added each month until the ballance is paid in full or 90 days from the first due date has been reached. Any amount left unpaid after 90 days will be handed over to a collections agency with the name and address of the domain owner listed as the debtor.

New header images

May 16, 2005 By: bio Category: General

Today was the day to search the stock xchnge (a very cool source of royalty free images for non commercial use). I pulled down 7 more images for the header… all of which are very cool.

Oh… and a special thanks to Stephen at pixinstock.com for allowing me to use one of his images (the cigarette machine).

Next on my list of things to do: Trash Calvin’s cubicle!

One of the guys I work with, Calvin, is having a birthday. It is one of those that includes a “0” on the end. So… I got black wrapping paper, balloons, etc to nail his cube with. Should be fun!

Upgrade a go-go

I’ve just upgraded to the latest, greatest build of wordpress. Hopefully I haven’t messed things up.

Take a look, poke around, and if you find a problem, email me at:
bio at pixelthugs dot com (you can figure out how that works)

Hopefully, this will fix a few issues I’ve been having (there are about 170 bug fixes in the new version).

Everybody’s workin’ for the weekend…

May 15, 2005 By: bio Category: General

I must be getting old.

We went to the arena last night for a concert. I don’t remember who the opening act was (they were damn good though), but Loverboy was the headliner.

To be fair… when they came on stage, I had a hard time controlling myself. I busted up laughing. Time is a fickle beast, generous to some, and cruel to others. Loverboy seems to have been on time’s shit list.

The lead singer had gained more than a couple pounds (though I understand that he’s lost a ton of weight), and everyone with the exception of the drummer had gray hair. Not the picture I had in my head by any means.

Then they kicked off with “Working for the weekend” and I was amazed. They may have aged dramatically, but they were musically tight as hell and the lead singer (Mike Reno) definitely hasn’t lost his voice. They sounded as good today as they did 25 years ago.

The set was pretty much a recap of their height of popularity, with all the greatest hits. They also played one new song right before they closed out with “Lovin’ Every Minute of it”.

It was loud, I laughed, but I also had a good time (though not as good a time as the sweaty mullet wearing man in front of us… he danced hard for the whole concert!).
