Boycott a go-go!

February 02, 2006 By: bio Category: General

Here at wwbd, we often find that some things just annoy the holy living hell out of us.

Thing of the week that we find annoying and offensive: television commercials that take good songs, re-write the lyrics, the over-dub with them.

Exhibit A: Kraft “Crumbles”.

Kraft, in their infinite wisdom, took a perfectly good song (EMF’s “Unbelievable”) and turned it into a horrid anthem for cheese bits entitled “Crumbelievable”. Dear mother of God… make it stop!

The worst part about it is, they even included closed captioning on the damn commercial, so hitting the mute button on the TV makes the damn lyrics appear.

Fuckers! Boycott this shit and send them a message!

Exhibit B: Crystal Light “On the Go”

More from the land of jingle hell Again, it’s the Kraft foods company to blame for this horrible diddy. They’ve taken KC and the Sunshine Band’s classic hit “Shake your booty, and modified it to “Shake your bottle”.

We could create a perpetual motion machine to provide an infinite amount of energy by tapping into KC rolling in his grave right now.

For the love of all that’s good and pure… boycott this product… make the pain stop!

Hell… just boycott all of Kraft. Send them the message that destroying popular songs makes us physically ill… and people who are nauseous don’t want to eat or drink.

Neat… wwbd is all fubar’d

Interesting.

For reasons I can’t quite explain, this site has taken a complete dump. I did notice that my CSS for the site has also changed in filesize.

Very curious.

I’m tossing up a new theme now (heh… I guess you’re looking at it).  I need to pull all the files from the old theme down and compare them to the archive ones on my machine to see what’s changed.

We’re moving!

As those Brazilian script kiddies have a thing about h4Z0r1nG my server on a routine basis, I’ve decided that I’m going to shut the damn thing down.

Running my own hosting server was a fun hobby, but it’s slowly become my second job. It’s official… I quit.

I did some looking around, and dreamhost had the deal for me.

It’s only $7.95 per month (if you buy 2 years at once) and gives me the following:
* 1TB (yes… terabyte!) of bandwidth per month to start (they add 8 GB per week to that)
* 20 GB of drive space to start (they add 160MB to it every week)
* Unlimited domains to share the disk and bandwidth
* Unlimited sub-domains
* 3,000 email accounts
* Unlimited email aliases
* 75 shell/ftp accounts
* Unlimited mySQL databases
* lots more

For $7.95 a month… you cant’ go wrong! And since I was paying $180 a year for my static IP’s, $190.80 for 2 years of webhosting is a bargain (yay… I save money!). I also don’t have to deal with the server aspect any more. No more backups, dealing with intrusions, etc. They also give you a 97 day money back guarantee… so if you hate it, you haven’t lost anything.

One more thing… if you choose to move to them, do so by clicking this link. If you sign up after clicking thus said link, and stay past the 97 days… I get a $97 credit as a referral fee.

Everybody wins!

The only downside to the move is that my sites will be offline for around 3 days while the DNS propagates across the web. I can live with that.
