The downside to being home
I went to work this morning to tie up the lose ends: shifting my tasks that are soon due to other people and setting up my email/voicemail to reflect that I’ll be out of the office.
Of course, since people know I’m at home, and that I know a thing or two about computers, my damn phone has been ringing off the hook.
If you have any computer knowledge at all, heed my advice: deny it!
There are people out there who think that since you know something, it’s their right to call you and pester you with any computer problem, day or night. And no matter how crappy you may feel, you will help them… or you’re a bastard (it’s kinda like owning your own server).
So… I’ve gotten 10 calls so far from a friend who was attempting to install a burner in his computer. We’ve gone from simple “where do I plug this in” questions to some serious registry problems.
*sigh*
I think I’ll take some more Vicodin and turn off my phone.
Bored? Try Wacky Crazy Happy Fun Land (wich is actually rather lame, but the title captured my attention).
