hooch makes me happy, Wendle pisses me off

May 25, 2003 By: bio Category: General

So it’s around 2:30 am, and I’m sitting here drinking Hooch Hard Orange and reading websites of shallow people (unlike this website, where I know exactly how useless I am).

Life is good.

A side note about my car… I called the bastards back to fix what they missed (read: everything) and they promised to pick my car up this morning and have it back to me tonight. 10:30 am came… no pick up. 11:30 arrived and I got a second helping of the same (I called and left a voicemail). 1 pm rolled around, no call back. 2 pm, another call made and another dejection received in the ether of computerized answering systems. I did try calling the number that their service manager called me from on Friday (which is apparently his home), but the phone was answered by a little girl who informed me that daddy was at work (so I know he got my messages). By 5 pm, I finally resigned myself to the inevitable conclusion: They’ve been paid and that’s good enough for them (I can go to hell).

Fuckers.

Of course, it’s the holiday weekend, so I’m going to have to wait for tuesday to roll around before I can get a hold of anyone important who works there. At this point I don’t want them to fix it… I’ll take my money back and go elsewhere to have it done (like they’ll really give me my money back… oh-man… I crack myself up!)

On the brighter side of things… the little sister and her new husband came over tonight for dinner. We burnt dead meat on the grill and watched the mother of all thunderstorms roll in while drinking margaritas and making fun of the people who live behind us… great times!!

There is no link… you’ve already gotten two.. don’t be greedy!

Oh.. one more thing… I’m changing my link on the email back to something serverside. Apparently I had my hotmail account locked down so that if you weren’t in my address book, I didn’t get it (and I have an empty address book). I tried turning that filter off, and immediately got 57 emails on how to enlarge my penis, get rich on real estate, and look at some skags webcam. So… if you sent me a message and haven’t replied… that would be why (send it again to the new address… I’ll get it this time).

*sigh*

Tomorrow’s big plan: more of the same (I lead the rock star life style!)

Dude… where’s my car?

I dropped my car off at Wendle last Wednesday about 30 minutes prior to my surgery because it needed some touch up. They had tinted my windows and the job that was done was fairly poor (read: lots of bubbles, tint cut to short in areas, etc).

The service manager dropped it off at my house this morning. He told me that they had done an excellent job this time and he had personally inspected it (which they should have, since they had 9 days to get it right).

I’m gonna buy him some glasses.

They only re-did about half of the windows and missed some of the biggest problems (the front passenger window has a large scratch in it from where something in the door ate the film, edges that aren’t pressed down well enough, etc).

*grumble*

So now I’m waiting for them to call me back, again. Hopefully, they’ll be able to get it back in today or tomorrow, as it’s a holiday weekend and I need the damn thing on Tuesday so I can go back to work.

Happy Wednesday!

The best part about back surgery is the medication they put you on after the fact.

The drugs eat your gut and make you feel like absolute crap, adding insult to injury. Here’s my typical morning:

Get up after a night of waking up every 30 minutes or so and sitting on the toilet until your legs fall asleep while waiting for gravity to empty your bowels (always a pleasant experience, made doubly so because of the laxatives you are required to take convert your plumbing into a play-doh fun factory). When that joyous experience is over (and someone helps me get off the toilet), I take two Vicodin tablets the size of my fist, a couple of anti-spazm tablets (also quite large), and attempt not to gag when they get stuck in my throat.

Diarrhea, cha-cha-cha!

*blah*

I picked up some powerball tickets for tonight’s drawing yestersday. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the $23,000,000 ($12,800,000 – cash option) prize. I think that should keep me in beer for a while. If I win (hell… I’m an optomist: WHEN I win) I’ll start my own company. Don’t know what it will be yet, but I can guarentee that the hours will be nice.

A big thanks to all of you who have sent me the nice emails reciently… it’s really been a lift to the spirits!

Oh… and before I forget, here’s the link of the day: The Chronicles of George

Making the dump a more presentable

As I have plenty of time on my hands at the moment and am a prisoner in my own home, I’ve been working on a few minor tweaks to the website.

Mainly, it’s just graphic updates (the new header banner) and a few tweaks to the templates. Style sheets can be a bitch (especially trying to specify a background image in a class… what the hell was up with that?!?).

I’ve gotten a couple of responses so far:

Eddie Canuck says:
“very nice, kinda spooky and evil, yet flowery and spring like”

saki2mesue says:
“you look like a serial killer….LOL…..I like it”

How the hell are ya?

I’ve forgotten what it’s like to kick around the house and be lazy…

It’s boring.

Staring at the walls, talking to my dog, and waiting for someone to post on either the website or the forum…. man, I need a life!

I’ve been laying low on purpose though. My prior employer has made some rather unfortunate business decisions (read: the stupid asses fucked up big time) leading to the layoff of 350 people at the Spokane office. The largest manpower part of their business is supplying technical support for other companies. Their largest customer, Microsoft, has decided to move it’s support out of the US and over to India because it’s cheaper (and won’t it be great calling for technical support and getting someone who doesn’t speak english?). Of course, Spokane has been slowly losing all it’s technical related jobs, leaving my current employer about the only one left in the area that’s still around (and we’re doing just fine).

But with 350 people looking for work, and about half of them knowing me personally…. my IM and email have been getting hit rather hard with requests for help with getting them a job with my company.

Not to come off as cold or anything… but I’m not even at work… I’m at home, laid up from back surgery. I can’t help at the moment. Please… stop.

*sigh*

In other news… Trev of Eddie Canuck fame got his new speedo plate that I designed printed and installed…. it looks sweet!!!
