Boredom sets in (again)

June 04, 2003 By: bio Category: General

Being home sucks. It’s nice not having to deal with the hassles and stresses of work, but man… am I bored.

I did get a couple of new CD’s yesterday… Dave Gahan’s Paper Monsters and Martin Gore’s Counterfeit2. Both are good by their own respect, but neither has the energy that the two artists combine to create Depeche Mode.

I also got a movie that I’ve been wanting for forever on DVD: Brazil. It’s a little funny, a little quirky, and very dark. I liken it to Monty Python meets George Orwell (which isn’t that far off, since it’s directed by Terry Gilliam). Pick up your own copy or rent one NOW!

Why the hell are you still here… go!

Now I’m going to assume that you ran and got the movie, watched it, and are ready to resume your life. Let’s continue….

The new server is coming along. Most the hardware is ready (still need a hard drive of sufficient size). I’ve managed to scrounge up a nice little PIII 500 with ample memory… it should rock (as the server you’re currently leeching on is a P200 with nothing fancy about it). Hopefully we’ll be able to get the OS installed and the toys ready soon.

Finally (there’s always gotta be one more thing…), the 15th Annual Chicken Run is next weekend. “What the hell is a Chicken Run” you ask… this is a Chicken Run (well… last years, anyway). I can’t go this year *grumble* because I’m still recovering from my back surgery, but many of the people I know are. Bastards… all of ’em!

No link today… you’ve been naughty.

  1. Funny, that Gahan album sounds like “Exciter pt 2.” Its silly to compare the albums but I think I like the Gore album better. Its a got a very weird, sweet charm to it. Although I have to say the Gahan DVD is pretty funny in a couple of places.
