Oh yeah… that was misinterpreted.

Let the Montana jokes fly.

I don’t really have much to write about at this time, but just the same, the overwhelming pressure to produce for you mental vampires compels me do do so.

So here we go! (post 134 – woot!)

The server is now about 30 domains lighter than it was yesterday. I spent a good chunk of the morning removing users, domains, mail, etc. and fixing a few things (mainly the damn cron jobs). While this pisses me off, it should make the powers that be happy.

Other news: my sister and her husband came over again last weekend for dinner, drinks, and games. I seriously look forward to Saturdays. David (the brother-in-law) is a very cool guy and my sister is completely one of a kind. We ate steaks, drank a few beers, and played Sorry (which has far more strategy than I had thought), gin rummy, and scrabble.

I’ve also decided that my children are completely lazy and have decided to sell them off for scientific experimentation.

That’s it for now… wheee!

Don’t forget to check out the Big Red Head Forum, the official forum of wwbd!

Oh… and before I forget, here’s the keyword searches from over the weekend that ended up on my site. Feel free to combine them in any way you deem funny:

A quick update to the furnace thing (for those who care… which probobly isn’t you).

I called the phone numbers that the manufacturer’s website showed for service only to find out that they were wholesale only. Fortunately, the second one I called was kind enough to tell me that they had the part in stock and gave me the phone number of a dealer who would sell it to me.

I called that dealer and he said he would call me back with a price. 10 minutes later, he did just that…

$459

OMFG!!! *gasp*

It’s a fucking plastic body with a small electric fan! Bejesus!

Thank God Al Gore invented the internet! I told him that I found it online for $258.23. After a few seconds, the guy said he’d match that price, plus tax if I gave him the url. I guess you’re not supposed to sell online at wholesale prices. (whatever)

So, long story even longer, It’s fixed.

Brrrrrr

My nemesis has a name, and that name is furnace.

After the trials and tribulations this summer of installing central air in my home, I had thought that my dealings with my furnace were over.

I thought wrong.

It started making an odd noise a few days ago… a deep rumbling sound that troubled me. It appeared that the exhaust blower was off balance and I was going to tear it open last night after I got home from work to see what the problem was. Unfortunately, it seized up during the day yesterday while I was at work.

No exhaust blower… no heat.

Unfortunately, it was 7 pm when I discovered this, way past the time when the furnace place was closed. Another unfortunate thing was the temperature outside was dropping. A low of 13° f (-10.5° c) was forecast for last night, and I knew things were gonna get cold if I didn’t do something.

We do have a natural gas fireplace with a blower, so I turned it on and placed fans around it to help circulate the air. This only heats the top floor of my home though. My eldest son has a king sized water bed so I wasn’t too concerned with him for the night, but my youngest son had nothing in his room, so I put an electric oil radiator in his room.

I froze in my room.

Currently, it’s friggin’ 11° f outside (-11.7° c) and a tropical 59° f (15° c) inside.

I’ll be calling the furnace place when they open in about 45 minutes. Hopefully they have the part I need in stock and ready to go (read: If they have to order it with a 2 – 3 week waiting period, there will be bloodshed).

Roy Horn costume is teh funneh!

The weekend was good. Once again, my sister and brother-in-law came over for dinner, drinks, and a kick ass game of Risk this weekend.

Risk isn’t a game in my family, it’s a religion. Unfortunately, my wife isn’t a gamer, so I haven’t played in a long time. My sister told me that I’m not nearly as ruthless as I used to be. I guess that’s what happens when you only play 3 times in the last 5 years. When my brother was alive, we used to play it constantly. The battles for control of Australia were intense (hold Australia, rule the world!).

Of course, we often played variants of the game. A favorite was “Evil Poncho Villa Risk”: Roll double 1’s on defense and you’re a loser… drink a shot of tequila. Roll triple 1’s on attack, you’re a complete loser… drink 2 shots and turn the board around (now he’s you and you’re him… and it’s his turn).

I don’t think we ever finished a game of “Poncho Villa Risk”.

Today has been fairly “meh” so far. It snowed yesterday, so It’s colder than hell, and they’re tearing out the “smoking lounge” at work. It’s a metal shed with electric heaters, except the heaters were removed today. They’re building a new one and that’s where the heaters and lights went… but it’s not open yet.

Guess I’m gonna have to quit.

Oh… and here’s my choice for Best Halloween Costume, 2003 (thanks mmeowgrl!)
I told you pussies were dangerous!!
