I spent the 4th sitting on my couch, watching VH1.

We had planned to go out to a friends house in Idaho for a pig roast, horse riding, running quads through a mud pit, and fireworks… but I felt like hell (and can’t do any of those things anyway). I did convince my wife to take the kids and go without me. She wasn’t happy leaving me alone, but the kids had an absolute blast (they said it was “the best 4th of July ever!!!”).

I’m still working on getting clean. My morphine intake is lower and I believe I quit it completely on thursday. Hopefully the transition isn’t too rough (I’m still attempting to find some balance from the last time they cut the dosage).

If you doctor ever prescribes morphine sulfate (oxycontin) to you… use caution. Personally, I would only take it again if I was in incredible pain. In retrospect, I think I would have rather dealt with the pain… the withdrawals are nasty (and long lasting).

In other news… I got to do something today that I haven’t been allowed to do for nearly a year. I drove myself to work! The medication dosage is now so low that I’m no longer concidered “impared” by law. Life is good!!
