I’ve found my twin!

November 17, 2004 By: bio Category: General

They say everyone has a twin in the world…. mine just got convicted of murder.

We have a lot of new bodies at work (from the acquisition of another company)… many of them from California. Apparently, I’ve creeped a few of them out because they believe I look amazingly like….

My evil twin invites you to go fishing in December with him.

Scott Peterson

Um… well.. I don’t see it, but it does strike me as funny.

Of course, they’re comparing the bleached me to the bleached him.

And no… my wife won’t go fishing with me at Christmas now.

Joy!

They’re doing layoffs here today.

This is the 3rd one this year and I’m about as stressed out as you can be. Watching your friends walk out the door with a cardboard box is hard.

Anyway… if anyone needs me, I’ll be hiding under my desk… in the fetal postition.

Update:
I’m still here.

I hate everything!

I’ve decided that ye olden website looks like a can of ass.

I’m gonna see what I can do about that, so expect changes.

In other news:
We’re 95% there with the new server. Only a couple of applications to add and a kernel to swap (for multiprocessor support). A big THANK YOU to jester for setting it up and to all the people who donated to the cause (*sniff*… I wub each and every one of you!).

And finally:
I migrated my home network to a Linksys 802.11G network about 2 weeks ago. Well… I hate it! So… I’m running CAT5 again. Anyone wanna buy some PCI NIC’s? Cheap! 🙂

Woooo-hooooo!

Woody is up!

We spent the last several hours working on migrating to the new server (Woody). The old one (Overkill) is now in holding mode until we’re sure we got it all.

There’s a few features that don’t currently work (spam assasin, pop3, etc). If you find something let me know by sending me email (if I host you, you know my address).

Big thanks to jester of linuxpunks fame for all the help (j00 r0x0r!)

meh…

Last thursday I went to see my neurosurgeon about my back.

The screws they put in when I had a fusion back in May are causing quite a bit of pain. After pressing on them a few times (which about sent me through the ceiling), my surgeon had my lie on my stomach and shoved a 4″ needle into my back. He pushed it along one of the screws until it met the bone, then slowly pulled it back out, moving it from left to right, as he injected me with steroids.

Bejesus… that hurt!

Now, 5 days later, it still hurts. I didn’t get much relief from the injection, but whatever he shot me up with has left me felling weak and shaky. Good times!

Other news:
We attempted to transition the server over on Sunday but ended up formatting it and reinstalling. Our plan of using the mySQL db to store user authentication information for mail and ftp just won’t work and we needed to start over. We’re gonna give it another attempt this weekend. In the meantime, I need to set up all the database tables again in preparation for the migration.

And finally:
You can tell by the date/timestamp of this post that I’m working graveyard tonight. I’m exhausted, feel like shit, and surly as hell… but I’m here. Yay!
