Facelift

March 18, 2005 By: bio Category: General

I’ve decided to give the website a facelift. I’ve been running the same basic look for a long time. It’s time to be different.

There’s obviously a lot of crap broken at the moment (the links are all messed up), but I’m working on it.

If the comments work, let me know what you think of it (the comments will be moderated, so they wont show up right away… damn spammer monkeys).

*EDIT* – I fixed the damn links 🙂

*EDIT Again* – I added a php script that rotates the masthead image every time the page is loaded. There are half a dozen variations to the image (the car changes color). It will randomly select one when you load the page, then change it if you hit a link on the page that reloads the site.

How cool is that? 🙂

Happy St. Patrick’s day!

Ahhh yes, St. Patrick’s day! A day of corned beef and cabbage (well, that’s what’s on the menu at Casa de WWBD tonight).

I actually have no idea why we celebrate this day. I guess I could google it, but I honestly don’t care. Any day that says I can drink beer guilt free is a good day for me.

The back is coming along. It itches like all hell where the incisions are. I guess that means it’s healing. Healing is a good thing. MY eye is also clearing up, so I’m pretty happy about that too.

This whole recovery thing is boring. I can’t drive or go anyplace and I’ve only had a couple of people come over or call so far. Yeah… I’m loved. I spend my days watching the Red Dwarf DVD’s that my cousin brought over for me (seasons 1 – 4) and veging on the couch. It’s the rock and roll lifestyle for me… wake up, take drugs, do nothing.

I’m hoping to be able to drive this weekend. I desperately need a damn haircut and getting out of the house would be wonderful.

I did order my son’s birthday presents the other day. He turns 16 next Thursday and wanted to upgrade his computer. He’s getting the following from my wife and I:

  • AMD XP 3200+ (400mHz FSB, Barton Core)
  • ASUS A7V600-X motherboard
  • 1 GB (2x 512) Corsair PC-3200 (DDR400) RAM

He’s also getting Halflife 2 via Steam from his younger brother.

Spoiled, perhaps, but I’m the dad and that’s my job.

I’m still standing

I haven’t updated el bloggo de caca for a while.

I’m still recovering from my surgery. The exterior bandages have come off and I’m left with about a dozen butterfly sutures stuck to my back. It itches like mad, but that’s a good thing. I’ve also seemed to have developed an infection in my right eye. Waking up with cornflakes in your eyelashes, effectively gluing your damn eye shut is a treat! Yay! More visits to the doctor!!

Other than that… not one hell of a lot going on. Life is pretty boring when you’re stuck in the land of daytime TV. One can only watch “Surprise By Design” so many times before they go insane.

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to use my car again soon. I’d kill for a haircut and the chance to escape the house for a bit.

Owie! Owie! Owie!

Oh man… am I sore!

My whole back is bruised and I feel like it’s been used as a punching bag. Just rolling over in bed last night was enough to wake my ass up in pain (and my wife too). Good times!

It’s not quite as bad yet this morning, but it’ll get there.

Today’s plan:
I have to go back to the neurosurgeon’s and sign some paperwork so that they can share information with my short term disability insurance company (this HIPAA thing is out of control). Then I’m gonna sit back and watch the Red Dwarf DVD’s that my cousin Shawn dropped off for me (seasons 1 – 4).

Oh… and I’m sure that drinking beer will fall into there someplace or another.

A little experiment

As it’s nearly 3am and I can’t sleep, I decided to run with an idea I’ve been toying around with for a while.

I own a domian that I’m not doing much of anything with and decided to place an un-moderated and somewhat abandoned forum on it. I’ll check it from time to time to see if it’s in use, but that’s about it.

I present to you: shitdanish.com

This can be either wildly entertaining, or completely boring, depending on who moves in and makes it their home.

I did, however, make a few statements in the TOS that release me of any legal liability and also warn that I can shut the damn thing off at any point for any reason.
