I’m gonna be filthy stinking rich!

October 23, 2003 By: bio Category: General

So I’m sitting there at the smoking table, taking my break and minding my own damn bidness, when Sue sits down next to me and lights one up.

We started talking (well.. we started making fun of each other, but that’s what we do on smoke breaks) when suddenly I noticed something freakish about her.

She has the word “DEMO” printed on her eyes.

WTF!!!

Apparently, she was given a “demo” pair of contacts to try out, and if she likes them, she can buy real ones.

I can’t state enough how fucking freaky it is to see words printed on someones eyeball… but it got me thinking of a way to get rich.

I’m going to pitch to major companies that they make the the exclusive distributor of my new brainchild: “Eye-Catchers”(tm) advertising system.

You provide free contacts to people with your company logo on them so long as they sign a contract that they will wear them in public for a specified amount of time.

Here’s a few examples of what I’m talking about:

I’m gonna be rich!!!!

Like little parasites, my children suck my wallet dry

Last night I was cornered.

My son plays the clarinet. Last year the school had loaned him a bass clarinet and he loved it. This year, they didn’t have one to loan him, so they gave him an Obo. He hates it.

Rather than see him give up on band, I went to the music store last night and shelled out $1,100 for a used bass clarinet for him. It’s a Yamaha, in near mint condition (no dings or scratches) with a real wood cladding (no cheap plastic here!). The kid is pretty happy.

In other news, I’m farily steamed about Jeb Bush’s decision to ignore the wishes of Terry Schiavo and her husband (though I’m not suprised… he is a Bush, after all). Apparently being in a coma with no real brain activity and a degridation of brain matter for over a decade isn’t enough to pull someone off life support (even though she requested that she never be put on life support if something were to happen to her). I understand her parents fighting for her; they want to keep their daughter alive… but she’s not their daughter any more. She’s just a body now.

My wife and I are going to get living wills drawn up to insure this kind of crap never happens to me. If I’m braindead, harvest my organs and end it. I’ll be gone, but at least I can leave something behind that benifits others.

Finally…. I’m off to see the doctor tomorrow for my own medical needs. I’m hoping he changes my pain meds out for something that acutally reduces the pain. My current medication has lost effectiveness as my body’s become acustom to it (and I don’t want to increase the dossage… that will just make me drool all over myself). Great times!

Monday, monday… so good to me…

After a rousing weekend of pretty much nothing exciting, the week begins once again.

It was the first weekend in months where my sister and brother-in-law didn’t come over for dinner and games, so life was pretty boring. We did bake another ham, since the damn dog stole the one I baked last week (it was wonderful!).

Today, we’ve got an installing going on with a utility in Alabama, so my phone has been ringing off the hook (“can you see the new meter?”). In the last 15 minutes, I’ve had 10 calls. At least I’m earning my money.

Still no word on getting the injection into my spinal cord. I’m gonna give them till Friday to schedule the appointment before I call.

Oh… one more thing: there’s an email going around that supposedly quotes the Quran. According to the email, the following is from chapter 9, verse 11:

“For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.”

After searching online versions of the Quran, I can say with 99.9% certainty that the email is a load of crap. Verse 9:11… please.

This is what I hate most about the internet. Stupid crap like this gets written and sent out, and no one takes the time to verify it, they just accept it at face value. You’ve got the largest research tool in the world available to you… use it! (ie: this link, this link, and this link).

Of course, you have to be careful when you do research things, because myths like this are self propogating. Since people have the tendancy to take things at face value without verifying anything, they post these messages on their websites as truth. It’s good to be a little jaded and look for something else.

If you receive this, do everyone a favor and mock the person who sent it to you, then delete it. Do not forward this crap.

Woot.. thursday r0x0rZ!! (or perhaps not)

Calvin is on vacation this week, so I get to do his job. I’m so lucky.

So… I got up a 3:30 to be to work at 5 am (instead of my usual 8 am). Of course, I can’t carpool this early, so I have to drive myself and take my pain meds after I get to work. I’m currently sitting at my desk waiting for them to kick in.

The weekend was nice. I ran out of meds on friday but was able to get someone at the Doctors office to approve a refill at the last minute. My sister and her husband came over on Saturday night for our weekly dinner/games night. I baked a killer ham (which was apparently too tempting, as the damn dog grabbed it after dinner and ran out the doggie door with it). So much for ham sandwiches later on.

We played Rumolli and drank Newcastle Brown and copper kettles till about midnight, then my sister crashed in the guest room. So her husband and I played Battlefield 1942 till 1:30 in the morning.

Good times!

Sunday, I made biscuts and gravy with sausage for the gang… tasty!

The rest of Sunday was left to cleaning up and relaxing. I put in my Avril Lavigne CD and hit the kitchen (I’ve become quite a fan of her).

I lead an exciting life, don’t I?

Link of the day: BEJUSUS!!! I’ll take 2! (thanks baldy!)

Finally: for those who like to know… here’s todays keyword searches that led to my website as of 11:24 am PST (in no particular order):
porn, black, white, on, wwbd, Pimp, gimmie, free, 4, some

Once again, we here at wwbd have no idea what they were searching for (well… actually we do, and they’re a bunch of sick bastards) but we’re glad all the same that they came to visit.

Perhaps I should post a picture of a nude just to make them happy.
